Highland Perthshire is located in the very centre of Scotland with it’s magnificent wooded and fertile glens and dramatic mountain tops where Red Deer roam and the Golden Eagle soar. The air is so clean and pure that plant species such as tree lichens can be seen. These plants only survive in pure unpolluted air.
One of the main advantages of biking in Highland Perthshire is that the area is unspoilt and quiet in comparison to the rest of the UK. No matter which bike ride route you choose you will almost certainly be on your own for long periods of the route. This will allow you to enjoy the magnificent scenery, the sound of the mountain burn (stream) or the call of a buzzard, the barking of the roe deer. The area has an abundance of wildlife such as red squirrels, hares, roe deer and on the higher routes the magnificent red deer, all of which are often seen. | |
