Pitlochry off road cycle routes

Pitlochry has a network of way marked trails primarily highland-perthshire-250.jpgaimed at walkers, but also providing those with mountain bikes a fabulous range of routes. These routes range from easy to the more difficult taking the walker and biker alike though river routes, forests and open moorland with great views. The great thing about all these routes is that you start and finish them in Pitlochry, which has ample parking.

 Please note these routes below (12 to 14) are also used by walkers as well as cyclists, there are short sections of the route where ground conditions are soft and muddy where it would be responsible for people to dismount to prevent damage to the route and possible for H&S reasons.

     12. Pitlochry, Port na craig, Clunie Bridge and hydro power station, Coronation Bridge, Garry Bridge foot bridge and back to Pitlochry - Easy to moderate - along paths, pack road to Foss and forest paths.  It is all relatively flat and quite easy for families Provided you have a map and can navigate your way round.     13. Pitlochry, Glen Fincastle , Aillean Forest, Loch Bhac, Struan, Bruar, Blair Atholl, Killiecrankie - Difficult - This follows public roads, forestry roads and the fabulous path route past Loch Bhac over the moorland down offering a fast 5km downhill ride in spectacular panorama of mountain scenery to the River Garry before heading off to Struan. ‘Trail maps’ detail this route and can be purchased from Escape Route in Pitlochry

    14. Pitlochry, Moulin, Bealach na Searmain, Killiecrankie, Craigower - Difficult to Severe - This route starts with a climb as one heads up to Moulin and then on to the paths up to Bealach na Searmain, with fabulous views down on Pitlochry and as one passes through Bealach na Searmain views down Glen Garry to Blair Atholl and the southern cairngorm massif.
